Mackerel Sky were commissioned in April 2014 to deliver a 3 year programme of training and support for the cultural and voluntary sector in Bath & NE Somerset.  The team started by undertaking a sector-wide needs analysis and from that identified areas and topics for training content.

Over the three year programme, we have delivered 1106 participant sessions for 605 participants, representing 306 organisations or individuals.  In total, we have delivered 63 training sessions equating to 424 training hours.

The aims of the programme were to:

Develop existing and latent cultural business and management skills  of volunteers, trustees, managers, organisations and team members

Enable voluntary and cultural organisations to proactively respond to changing circumstances

Support organisations in increasing operational capacity, deepening understanding of audiences/ customers and increasing quality of project and service delivery

So whats next?

The programme has worked with hundreds of creative and community practitioners with fantastic feedback on the sessions which have ranged from Event Management to Governance and from Marketing Strategy to Risk Management.

We do have plans to continue offering training and support across the BANES region and we welcome suggestions and feedback on what is wanted. Check the Training page to view upcoming events.
